The Lonely Road

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.

On the morning of me writing this, I had just moved to a new neighbourhood. I knew some places around but there were places I didn’t know so I decided to jog down those areas. After going for about 30 mins, I came to the beginning of a very lonely looking road with bushes on both sides, no houses and hardly anybody around so I made a U-turn lol.

Like this story of myself, many of us are at the beginning of that road of living a righteous Christian life, the road of letting the world know that you are the light and the salt of the world, the road of abstinence before marriage etc. Maybe you are even at one of these roads already and you are thinking of turning back because the world thinks you are weird, they are calling you names, you don’t see ‘cool’ people on that road and all that. I would like to encourage you and also remind you of two things.

1. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. -Matthew 7:14. It is already written so it something you should expect and should come to you as normal. Be rest assured that you are on the road that leads to life?

2. “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me” (Ps.. 23:4, ESV). Be rest assured that on this path that the world sees as foolishness and are crucifying you about, God is with you.

Lastly, I would leave us with this passage to ponder on. Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

God bless, pray for someone and have a great day!
