Sonship

For all who are allowing themselves to be led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading again to fear [of God’s judgment], but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons [the Spirit producing sonship] by which we [joyfully] cry, “Abba! Father!” – Romans 8:14-15
What great privilege we have as Christians to call God “Father” right? The above passage explains that when we receive the Spirit of God, we have received the Spirit of adoption giving us the right to call God our Father. To talk a very little about sonship and help our understanding a bit to the kind of privilege we have, the Bible and us refer to God as the King of Kings right? The son of a King is a prince right? A normal thing with a prince is that he is honored wherever he goes and everyone wants to favor Him right? As the son of the King of Kings, how much of wealth do you think you can have access too? If your Father is the mighty healer and has the power to heal any kind of sickness, do you think sickness will be a thing of bother to you? and we can go on and on and on and on but that’s not the point because all of these are insignificant as they are to come as normal things for sons with understanding unlike the prodigal son’s elder brother that didn’t understand his position of having access to everything as a son till the end of the story,

The point is the Spirit of God that allows us to be sons. The Spirit of God that is Holy can survive in a vessel that has sin in it, Spirit of God can stay in a vessel that thinks about how to hurt people, etc. So I ask that we ask for God’s forgiveness, CHANGE OUR WAYS, Ask that the Holy Spirit of God fills us and follow as the Holy Spirit leads us so we can boldly call God “Daddy”. I pray God gives us better understanding and also know that princes have responsibilities too but we talk about it another day.

God bless.
