True Worship

Many of us (that includes me) have been guilty and some of us are still guilty of thinking worship is just about the songs we sing, worship goes way beyond that. Worship is an act of respect and love for God, you can’t be in sin(which God is not a fan of at all), sing slow songs on a nice key (like f# lol) that makes you feel like you are in heaven with your hands lifted up and think you are worshipping, that’s disrespectful. Several times I have been guilty of this then God opened my understanding.

Let’s look at this scenario, you have a child, (God forbid but) he picks up a bad habit of stealing and you have warned this child several times. You have a camera in your room and you see your child stealing something from your room. You are on your way to the room as the child comes out, he/she sees you and starts telling you how much of a good dad/mum you are, how awesome you are and all that without knowing you just saw all he/she did. Would you smile at the child as he/she is “praising” you?
Won’t you feel like your child was trying to deceive you? That’s how we hurt His feelings when we sing “worship” songs and all that when what we need to do is ask for mercy.

It is my prayer that God gives us better understanding of this. Singing worship songs is awesome with our spirits lifted high but if you feel your spirit is lifted high and you are in sin, the thing lifting your spirit should be questioned.

Have a lovely weekend and pray for someone!
