The Kingdom of God is so important that Jesus spent His time on earth speaking about the kingdom. When He sent His disciples out in twos, He told them to teach about the Kingdom of God (Luke 9:2). It was Jesus that also said “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and it’s righteousness”. So The knowledge of the Kingdom of God is important and finding the Kingdom is more important. I’ll post some teachings on the Kingdom of God in the near future or I’ll just put together a short and free ebook like I did with the series on the Holy Spirit.

We have briefly established that the Kingdom of God is super important and Jesus instructed us to seek for it. I’ll remind us of a short story but before then, Nobody seeks for anything without the intention to find it so your goal should not just be to search nonchalantly but search because you want to find the Kingdom. The only place has accurate and complete information about the Kingdom is the word of God and you can search from morning till evening and not get the understanding on anything about the Kingdom of God if you don’t have the Spirit of God to open your eyes.

I was in church a Sunday or two ago and my pastor was preaching about something completely different. He read the story of a man named Zaccheus in Luke 19:1-10 and before he got to his point which was something else, he read verse 4 and I heard the Holy Spirit say “this is how to seek the Kingdom of God”.

So there’s a story about a man named Zaccheus in the Bible and the Bible acknowledges that he was rich so it means he was actually rich like proper wealthy, he was educated and a professional as he was the chief tax collector also meaning that he had people reporting to him. He heard about a certain Jesus in his residential area, Jericho and this rich man set aside his pride to see who this Jesus is but there was a crowd and he was short so he could not see. Guess what this rich man with people under him did next? He went all the way to climb a tree just to see Jesus. How can a man of his status do everything possible and “shameless” just to see Jesus? – It was at this point I heard, this is how to seek the kingdom, be like Zaccheus and seek like your life depends on it. The most beautiful part of this story is what happened after he did all he could to see Jesus, something more remarkable happened, Jesus called his name and He had a life-changing dinner with him.

When you truly seek the Kingdom, you will surely get far more than you bargained for. You’ll find the Kingdom of God and more. Go and seek with all your heart in Jesus name.
